SHADOW WAR selected for APFI’s Bite Into Drama showcase at TV Drama Vision in Gothenburg

The elevator pitch for our thriller series SHADOW WAR will kick off with a question: How do you tell the truth when the world around you actually prefers lies? Our show’s protagonist, journalist ALVA LEHTO (30), is faced with this dilemma early on. Her story is inspired by the extraordinary true events featured in Jessikka Aro’s international bestseller, Putin’s Trolls. Onerva Pictures’ founders Tanja Rusi and Inka Rusi have developed a fictional thriller series inspired by Jessikka’s book, together with British screenwriter Alex Kendall, known previously for Alex Garland’s DEVS. The international team of producers includes Kathrin Lohmann and Katharina Otto-Bernstein of Film Manufacturer’s Inc. (JOYLAND, THE LIVES OF OTHERS) and Gudny Hummelvoll of Hummelfilm in Norway, known for producing all three seasons of OCCUPIED, the cult hit series based on a concept by Jo Nesbø.
